Ofsted Letter for Parents and Carers

30th April 2024

Dear Parents and Carers of St George’s,

We are absolutely thrilled to share our new Ofsted Report after our recent inspection in March. There is a lot to celebrate and we are so pleased that the efforts of all of our hard work in all areas have been recognised and commended by the inspectors.

We are particularly proud of the well-deserved recognition the children of St George’s received from the inspectors, who described the children’s behaviour both in and around school as ‘exemplary.’ The children are an absolute credit to the school and their families and, rightly so, were graded ‘Outstanding’ for their behaviour and attitudes to learning.

I must also mention the whole staff team who have been on an incredible journey over the last 18 months. They are an amazing group who work tirelessly in all of their roles for the good of the children and the school. Nothing is too much trouble and they strive for the best outcomes for each and every child at St George’s in everything they do.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents and carers who have been on this journey with us. Thank you for accepting both Mrs Clarke and I into the community and for making us feel so welcome from the start. I would like to thank you in particular for supporting the school so wholeheartedly with the many changes that have been introduced and in such a short space of time. We could not achieve half as much at St Georges without the strong support provided by our families.

There is still so much to develop at St George’s but we now have the right environment, a stronger curriculum, much improved teaching and learning and positive relationships within the school community to build on. We have a comprehensive School Development Plan in place and will be working towards these outcomes for the rest of this academic year and into next.

Please continue to share your views and feedback whenever the opportunity arises through our online surveys or through communications directly with school to help us to continue to develop further.

Thank you again and very best wishes,

Mrs Anne Bullerwell
