Week beginning 12th May 2025
Early Years were fabulous in the PE gymnastics lesson – demonstrating our pencil roll, roly poly and cartwheel skills.
We have been dentists, brushing the dinosaur teeth, brushing the giant teeth and talking about why it’s important we do brush our teeth every day.
We also made masks and acted out the story of The Little Red Hen.
We listened to the story of Jesus sending the Holy Spirit to his friends and explored different ways we can represent wind and air. We chose to make kites, fans, flags and airplanes. We tested them outside, after we had watched bubbles being blown away.
We enjoyed going on a nature hunt with our Year 5 Reading Buddies, and created ‘nature faces’. What a busy week!
Week beginning 5th May 2025
Early Years have loved retelling and re-enacting the story of The Enormous Turnip. We have been famers, planting and watering seeds, and have also been chefs exploring, cooking and tasting some turnips.
We celebrated VE day by dressing up in red, white and blue. We made bunting for the classroom, our own union flags to wave, and spitfire airplanes to fly. We learned all about VE day and were fascinated to hear about the war and the evacuated children. We were very respectful and held a minute silence and enjoyed our VE day biscuits too.
Week beginning 28th April 2025
Early Years loved their first gymnastics lesson on Monday – we learned a lot of new skills!
Our new topic is People Who Help Us, we have loved engaging in the new Hospital/Vets/Dentist role play area, writing appointments and prescriptions, using the equipment (syringes, stethoscopes, toothbrushes), taking turns being doctors and patients.
We have thoroughly enjoyed playing outdoors in the sunshine, fully immersing in water and role play being Firefighters, putting out fires and rescuing each other from danger.
Another fabulous start to the term in Early Years!
