Welcome back! It's been a busy week as we began our English writing looking at climate and beginning to build on our persuasive writing skills. Multiplication in maths has been challenging, however our problem solving continues to improve.
Glockenspiel was amazing and it was fantastic to see how quickly progress was made in our first lesson. We have started to learn the days of the week in French - a song always helps!
New games to practise our times tables, lots of vocabulary and sentences reflecting on our emotions and the range of vocabulary to describe them, dance, music and arithmetic challenges, phew how did we fit it all in!
Sewing in DT saw us begin to learn new skills, and computing was the beginning of our journey into the world of audio. Well done to everyone for your hard work this week !
Progress shown in PE this week has been amazing as we develop our range of movement around the hall. In English we have been examing how best to structure our paragraphs for maximum effect - brilliant use of emotive language and technical vocabulary.
Maps in geography have helped us to investigate further the physical features of Catalonia and compare them. We have used different maps and explained the varying information that we can find on each of them. Well done everyone for another busy week!
Phew what a busy week in year 3-4! University of Durham visited us on Tuesday and we had an amazing time being archaeologists - marching, investigating artefacts and their importance then making our own Roman coins - which were fantastic.
On Wednesday we completed our own pilgrimage around Lemington, finishing off in church where we reflected on the importance of a pilgrimage.
Art work, then Book day to finish off the week - how did we manage to squeeze it all in ?
Another busy week in year 3-4. We have been using similes and alliteration to write our setting descriptions producing some amazing vocabulary. Shapes have challenged us in maths as we investigated and analysed 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.
In music we are rehearsing for our performance which we are very much looking forward to.
We learned a lot about our teeth this week and how to care for them, we even got a toothbrush to take home!
It has been a very busy week in year 3-4 planning and writing our narrative in English plus lots of measuring in maths. We have made great progress in gymnastics . Our climate workshop was fun and informative. We used some of these ideas to design and build our bug hotels in science - we have put these in the Dene to help our school become a better environment for our wildlife.
