Family Numeracy Workshops
Thank you to everyone who has been able to attend the information sessions and the workshops around Numeracy. Please do your utmost best to join us if your child’s session (Early Years, Year 1 and Year 2) is due to take place after February half term.
Jubilee Year of St Francis
Pope Leo has declared that from 10 January 2026 until 10 January 2027, will be the Jubilee Year of St Francis. This is to commemorate 800 years since St Francis’ death.
Saint Francis of Assisi was a Catholic friar who founded the Franciscan order. He is known for his love of animals and nature, and he preached to them, calling all creatures his "brothers" and "sisters."
Francis was born in Assisi, Italy, and became a monk after a vision led him to give up his possessions and live in poverty. He travelled to Egypt during the Crusades and is said to have received stigmata, which are marks that match the scars Jesus suffered during the crucifixion.
Francis died in Assisi on 3 October, 1226, and was canonised on July 16, 1228. His feast day is celebrated on 4 October each year.
During this year, we will be looking closer at the values which St Francis lived his life by and thinking about how we can use his example in our own lives.
Prayer and Liturgy: Tuesday Choice – an invitation for parents and carers
We would like to warmly invite all parents and carers to join us in school for one of our weekly class prayer times; Tuesday Choice. This special time of prayer, reflection, and togetherness gives our children the chance to share their faith in a joyful and meaningful way. We would be delighted to welcome you as we gather as a class community to celebrate, reflect, and grow together in faith, love and laughter.

St George’s Book Day
On Friday 6 March, we have our St George’s Book Day. As always, children are invited to dress as characters from their favourite books or come into school in their pyjamas as if ready for a bedtime story. This can include face paints but please ensure these are washable and removed by return to school on Monday 9 March. Please do not feel under pressure to buy any expensive costumes.
Easter Craft Sessions – Early Years and KS1
We will be hosting our Easter Craft sessions at the end of March for parents and carers to join our Early Years and KS1 children. Please check the Dates for your Diary to see when your child’s class are hosting theirs.
If you wish to discuss any item in this letter or anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office.
Have a wonderful half term with your families and friends.
Best wishes,
