Year 1_2 May 1st 2026

This week in Year 1 and 2 we have continued our learning with lots of exciting activities.

In Maths, we have started looking at shape, focusing on 3D shapes and their properties. We have been exploring what makes these shapes special and how we can recognise them. We have also explored if 3D shapes can stack, roll or even slide!

We have been learning about predictions and what this means. We discovered an egg and are carefully watching it as we wait for it to hatch, making predictions about what might be inside.

In Computing, we have explored programming quizzes on Scratch. We have been learning how to move characters in different directions and beginning to understand simple coding instructions.

In PE, we have started our Striking and Fielding topic, practising throwing and catching skills and working on accuracy and control.

In RE, we have continued to explore Pentecost and what the Holy Spirit is, thinking about its meaning and importance.
